As an EKG Technician...
... you will be expected to assist the physician with the cardiac catheterization procedure – placement of a small catheter/tube which is threaded through an artery near the patient's groin to the heart. This process assists the doctor in reading the heart rhythm and rate, and in determining if any blockages exist in blood vessels that directly supply blood to the heart muscle. Besides assisting the doctor with the actual placement of the catheter, the EKG Tech may also be responsible for setting up or cleaning the EKG machine, documenting the status of the patient and processing any related reports.
Your course of study at Manhattan Institute will give you both the education and the skills to get started
on becoming an Electrocardiogram Technician. To sign up now or to just speak to someone regarding any questions you might have, feel free to call Manhattan Institute at 212-564-1234, where our operators are available 7 days a week to help.
