Once You Become an EKG Technician...

...you are considered to be very much a part of the patient's heart disease treatment as the attending physician's diagnosis, of the patient, is partly based upon the EKG Tracings. The EKG test is usually requested to be performed before and after operations, during annual physical check ups – especially as a part of exams of patients over 40, - for patients with a history of heart disease, when patients are experiencing chest pains, and whenever an attending physician or health care supervisor deems it as necessary.

Once you have completed the Manhattan Institute three week course of study, you will receive a diploma that will allow you to begin your new career as an EKG Technician. As there is no requirement in New York State to have any additional certification or license, obtaining your diploma from Manhattan Institute is the first step in moving forward into your new career.

As a practiced and qualified EKG technician, you may work closely with dedicated health care professionals in settings that may include: hospitals or in-patient care facilities, ambulatory clinics, or doctors' offices.

The work of an EKG Technician is very much in demand, and class availability may be limited. Please visit Manhattan Institute or call 212-564-1234 to find out more about upcoming training and classroom seating
